How to Reorder and Delete PDF Pages on Your Phone
The pages of a scanned document came out in the wrong order, a blank page crept in, or you want to drop some pages before you submit it — you can tidy up a PDF's pages with just your phone, no computer needed. This article explains how to reorder and delete pages, and what to watch out for so you do not slip up.
In short, open the document, move pages with the arrows under their thumbnails, delete unneeded pages from the ︙ menu, then save with the “Save page order” button. Saving overwrites the original document and cannot be undone.
When Do You Need to Reorder or Delete Pages?
- You scanned in the wrong order: you shot the back first or skipped a sheet, and the page order is off
- A blank or unneeded page got in: a retake from partway through the scan, or the blank back of a sheet, is still there
- You want to leave some pages out of what you submit: pages the recipient does not need to see, removed before you send
- You want to adjust the order after merging: you combined several PDFs and the sections are not in the order you wanted
How Do I Reorder Pages?
- In PDF Toolkit's Library, open the document you want to tidy up
- Find the page you want to move among the thumbnails lined up side by side
- Tap the left or right arrow under the thumbnail to move it one place at a time
- Tap the “Save page order” button that appears after you make a change
Each tap moves the page one place. To move a page far, keep tapping. Until you press “Save page order,” the document itself does not change.
How Do I Delete Unneeded Pages?
- Open the document and open the ︙ menu on the thumbnail of the page you want to remove
- Choose “Delete.” The page disappears from the list
- When you are done, tap the “Save page order” button to save
“Delete” does not appear for a document that has only one page. To delete a whole document, use the trash icon at the top right of the document screen (that is a separate action and cannot be undone).
What If I Want to Remove Many Pages?
To remove many pages, it is quicker to use “Extract pages” under Tools, choose only the pages you want to keep, and make a new PDF than to delete page by page. Your original PDF stays as it is. See How to Rotate and Extract PDF Pages for more.
How Do I Fix a Page That Is the Wrong Way Up?
Choose “Rotate” from the page's ︙ menu. Each tap turns it 90 degrees clockwise and saves immediately. You do not need the save button.
Watch Out: You Cannot Undo This
Once you save, reordering, deleting and rotating pages overwrite the document in your library itself. There is no way to restore the earlier state afterward. If you want to keep the original, make a copy first with “Extract pages” under Tools by selecting all pages, and work on the copy (the steps are the same as the import steps in How to Write on a PDF Form on Your Phone and Send It Back).
What If I Want to Add Pages From Another PDF?
“Merge PDFs” under Tools combines two or more PDFs into one. After merging, use the steps on this page to put the pages in order. See How to Merge and Compress PDFs on a Phone for more.
Summary
You can tidy up a PDF's page order by moving pages with the arrows under the thumbnails, deleting unneeded pages from the ︙ menu and saving with “Save page order.” Saving overwrites the document and cannot be undone, so for an important document, make a copy before you start.

Q. Can I restore a page I deleted?
A. Before saving, going back from the document screen without saving cancels the deletion. After you save with “Save page order,” it cannot be undone.
Q. Can I delete several pages at once?
A. Deleting is one page at a time. To remove many pages, use “Extract pages” under Tools and choose only the pages you want to keep, which makes a new PDF in one go.
Q. Does reordering pages lower the quality?
A. No. The pages are rearranged and saved as they are, so image quality and text data do not change.
Q. Why can I not delete the only page of a one-page PDF?
A. To stop you from ending up with no pages, “Delete” does not appear for a document with a single page. To remove the whole document, use the trash icon at the top right of the document screen.
Q. Will the reordered PDF have a watermark when I send it?
A. On the free version, PDFs you share or send carry a small “Created with PDF Toolkit” at the bottom of each page. You can remove it with “Export without watermark” (watching one video ad covers that PDF once) or the PRO version (one-time purchase).
